Stress Buster Herbs

It is 2012. Life is fast paced and stressful. There does not seem to be any down time from one incident to another that really impacts everyday life. It may even become anxiety provoking. How to take better care of ourselves is an important question. Allopathic medicine abounds; however, it may have many and various side effects. So I turn to Herbal medicine. Here is a very effective herbal formula for Stress:

Reishi; Oats; Linden; Baikal Skullcap; Holy Basil; Schisandra

I like to use my herbs in the form of tinctures which have been extracted using both water and alcohol. Tinctures are easy to mix; and to change the mixture. They also last a long time.

Ganoderma lucidum, Reishi, is often referred to as the Emperor's Herb because it so incredibly helpful. It helps over ninety- five per cent (95%) of all of the different systems in the body. (See Chart for Mushrooms' Therapeutic Effects found at my website, linked below). I love this mushroom. It is so smooth. It works as anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-tumor, anti-viral, on blood pressure, blood sugar, cardiovascular, cholesterol, sexual potentiator, and all around stress reducer. It can even help with bug bites. It is said that Reishi extract will stop anaphylactic shock by putting some drops directly on the bite and two or more full droppers into the mouth, until the swelling goes down.

Wild Oats Milky Seed (Avena sativa): Organic is preferable because seeds concentrate pesticides and other poisons found in the environment. You cannot have too much Oats. Of course, eating oatmeal is helpful; whole grain even better. You can put your whole grain oats to cook in a crock pot at night. It will be ready in the morning.

Linden flowers and leaf (Tilia europaea) make you feel good; and it's a good herb for the heart.

Scutellaria baicalensis (Baikal or Chinese Skullcap) is an amazing herb, so much more than American Skullcap. Not only does it take out the jitters; it also supports the heart, immune system, your lungs, and is an anti-inflammatory. Considering that all disease starts with some kind of inflammation that is saying a lot.

Holy Basil (Tulsi) (Ocimum tenuiflorum) leaf is gently uplifting and calming. If you plant it in front of your front steps, it will waft a beautiful scent as you enter your home. It may be extraordinarily paired with Baikal Skullcap. If you have trouble sleeping, please do not take Holy Basil after 3:30 PM.

Schisandra is also a Chinese herb (Wu Wei Zi) (Schisandra chinensis). It is very good for the liver. With a lot of stress we can get grumpy. The liver is affected by mood, what we eat, drugs, and alcohol. So it is good to support the liver.

As you can see herbs work best in combination. That way you can create a well-rounded healing modality. Together these herbs will help your life to flow and move along more easily. Life is for enjoying.
